Sculpted ten foot Leif Erickson with another artisan for Riverdog Fine Arts, 1998-9. Edition of two,installed in Trondheim, Norway and in Brattalhid, Greenland.  Lead artisan in the lofting and casting  of Gloria Bornstein’s Whales, 25’ and 15’, installed Seattle Center, Seattle, WA, 1998.

Tracking the Dragon, 1990, for Wild Olympic Salmon and Puget Sound Water Quality Authority.  As one of 12 sculptors who, in collaboration with poets and illustrators, each depicted a phase of the hydrological cycle as a relief on a bronze “dragon track”.  My work, “Salt Water Estuary”, was installed in the Jefferson County park at Oak Bay.

Emery-Stevenson Reconstruction, Inc.  Partner in a two-man remodel and construction business in King and Snohomish counties, WA, 1982-1989. We specialized in low-income housing rehabilitation, especially for Seattle Housing Resource Group (Marsha Almquist, Director) and Plymouth Housing Group (Nancy Smith, Director). 

No Work So Simple.  Illustrated with woodcuts a book of poetry by Kim MacKay, hand printed, on a grant from the Seattle Arts Commission, 1987.

Fremont Stairway Project for Fremont Arts Council, Seattle, 1982.  Accomplished sidewalk portions of artistic treatment of public hillclimb, working with two dozen children from the nearby B.F.Day Elementary to design murals, which the children drew into cement on site.

Briarcliff Elementary, Seattle, 1980.  Gave clay sculpture workshops as teacher’s aide, rode the desegregation buses as a monitor.

Treasures of Tutankhamun, Seattle Art Museum, 1978.  As assistant night maintenance supervisor, made display repairs, worked with curators, security, and public relations staff.

Fire Lookouts, U.S. Forest Service, various sites, 1974-76 and 1979.  Executed numerous woodblock prints and small scale sculptures, both figurative and based on geological forces.

Travels in Central & South America, six months, 1972.  Visited ordinary and extraordinary sites, urban and wilderness.  Incan ruins irrevocably assured me of the force and value of sculpture in human affairs.

Beloit Corporation, a large-scale steel foundry in Beloit, Wisconsin, 1968-9.  Apprentice molding in sand casting techniques.  Loud, dirty and dangerous, but here I fell in love with molten metal and what can be done with it.

Columbia Greenhouse Pre-School, Columbia University, New York, Fall 1967 and Spring 1968. As assistant teacher, introduced children to a variety of art materials and experiences.
